Hello Everyone,

I’ve spoken briefly with the Ft. Harrison Park Manager, Mr. Doug Wickersham, and he’s tentatively agreed that we can bring out a work crew sometime this fall and repair the Tree ID Trail. All we have to do is figure out what weekend you folks would want to tackle this, and arrange the details of what we hope to accomplish with the park staff. The main things we should probably do are to smooth out the ruts around the trail, and scarf up the surface of the compacted Jeep Trail so that we can get some seed down on it.

What we’d need from your folks now is some idea of when you’d like to tackle this, what equipment you could bring, and how many volunteers we could count on. We’ll then take all that information back to the park staff and arrange the details of the work.

Let us know what you all think, and how you’d like to proceed.

Have a wonderful week!

I can work about any day during the week or a Saturday if it's planned far enough ahead. I think we could do most of the trail work with a small tractor and disc. Just my thoughts. Some shovel and rake work would also be needed.
I might be able to get Louie to bring his tractor which is a 4X4 but he does not have a disc. He does have a front loader.

I have a small tractor and a grader blade that we can use to pull most of the loose dirt back into the ruts. I don't have a disk either. They have stone that we can use to fill the rest if we can take some ATVs and trailers to haul it back there. Saturdays are best for me but can do a week day if needed.

Week-ends are out for me this month. If you pick a week-end in November, that is a possibility. Except Sat November 14th through the 20th. We have a Gatlinburg buying trip to go to for the Nashville shops. May try to ride Royal Blue, Coal Creek, or Brimstone on the 18th or 19th. If I can talk Julie into it. Any takers?

It is on the north east corner of Indy.

Greg Beilfess with the DNR called me today and is sending a thank you to Dreyer for the Rhinos we used. We discussed the trail repair project some and he will talk to the property manager and get back to us with some answers on what we can bring for equipment and how they will help us. Fairly soon we need to pick a date in the future to do the work so that he can coordinate that with the property personnel.

DNR is listing attendance at 13,300 people not including volunteers.
